Did you damage your skin this summer?

It is so easy to make a mistake and abuse sun exposure without even noticing because we tend to forget to reapply our SPF as  frequently as we should (myself included) and next thing we know. we are red, irritated and sometimes burnt and of course, I know I do, we panic.

When you have been fighting hyper pigmentation from previous sun damage or melasma you know how this can affect our progress. Luckily, if you are in the hands of a knowledgeable esthetician, there are solutions once the damage is none and prevention for further damage moving forward.

The use of antioxidants in office, as well as at home can really make a difference in your skin's health and appearance and this is to me the best course of action via peels, addition on  microneedling treatments, after a microdermabrasion or after other more intense treatments.

Here are some antioxidants to help guide you that I love to use and that deliver amazing results:

-Vitamin C: it has to be of good quality so we don't believe what they say that it  is BAD to use during the day!! Vitamin C is a preventative of sun damage so it belongs in your day care regiment.

-Resveratrol: Comes from grapes, and like red wine (in moderation) helps repair your cells from the action or free radical.

-Ferulic Acid: the king of antioxidants since it repairs the cells and also acts as a booster of your SPF for better protection.

Retinol: Also a powerful antioxidant ( Vitamin A) to be used at night and better tolerated than Retin A with anti aging properties as well as a pigment controlling agent.

I hope this information is valuable to you and feel free to leave a comment or to DM me for questions or appointments. Consultations are free!!!

Kind regards,
